Aconex has been selected by Grocon to provide its web-based collaboration system to the Pixel Building development in Melbourne.

Aconex will manage information online and link organisations involved in the design and construction of the building, which will be Australia's first carbon neutral office space.

The four-storey building will include an insulated rooftop garden with solar panels and wind turbines, as well as a grey water system.

Due for completion in 2010, the development is targetting a 6-star Green Star rating and has been designed to be capable of achieving the highest LEED and BREEAM ratings scores to date.

Aconex will be used to manage project information such as drawings, documents and correspondence. By using the system, Grocon will be able to access, track and distribute their data using one secure, central platform.
