Established in 2006, the BPN Sustainability Awards were created to encourage and reward Australia's best practice in sustainable building and architecture design.
Borne out of the need to recognise and promote genuine progress in green building practice, it remains the industry's strongest independent program recognising ecologically sustainable building and design that go beyond the tick-a-box approach.
Now in its 6th year BPN Sustainability Awards have grown to be one of the premier events on the industry calendar, attracting the highest calibre of entries and attendees to the prestigious annual awards night.

Single Dwelling (New)
• New construction of a single residential home.
Single Dwelling (Alterations or Additions)
• Extensions to the home or alterations to at least 50 per cent of the home.
Multi-Density Residential
• Townhouses, duplexes, residential complexes.
Small Commercial
• A project designed and built primarily for commercial purpose. Must be under 500 sqm in floor area.
Large Commercial
• Must be built primarily for commercial uses and above 500 sqm in floor area.
Office Fitout
• A renovation to the interior of an office building.
Public Building & Urban Design
• Public building: a building which primarily services, or is used, by the public.
• Urban design: projects at the intersection of architecture, landscape design and urban planning.
Landscape Design
• Sustainable design, preservation and rehabilitation of land around public, commercial or residential buildings.
Innovation of the Year
• A new product or service which helps advance progress in the sustainable built environment.
